1.  Bar III Coat///I spotted this periwinkle coat on another blog and was instantly drawn to its wintery hue, equestrian-like shape and faux fur collar.  If I get it, I’ll pair it with black denim and the gold-toed boots pictured here for day, and over a white lace shift by night.

2. Victoria’s Secret robe///This silky little number exhibits the perfect ratio of sexy to adorable.  I fully intend on lounging around our new apartment in this, complete with slippers, a cup of coffee, and a Haruki Murakami book.

3. A Christmas Story///Look—I’ll be honest. I don’t quite understand people who don’t “get” this movie, much less dislike it.  This is—without contest—the best Christmas  movie of all time.  It’s not just funny slapstick like “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (to be fair, a fine movie in its own right)—the story is intricately layered with subtle humor, sweetness, and universally relatable nostalgia.  There’s a reason why TBS plays 24 hours of this baby through Christmas day, and I’m looking forward to watching it at LEAST three times.

4.  Fountain Square ice skating///I’m certainly no Michelle Kwan, but going ice skating downtown on Fountain Square seems so part and parcel of being a Cincinnatian.  There’s few things so fun as grabbing a few girlfriends and attempting to make it around the rink without falling.

5. Stunner in the City dress, Modcloth///I’m typically not drawn to graphic prints, but this is so cosmopolitan-cool to me.  The cityscape is offset by the simple, easy shape of the dress—so wearable and easily transitioned between seasons.  Hope Santa gets the hint! ;)

6. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream “Boozy Eggnog”///If you’ve never tasted one of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams many flavors, you are truly missing out.  This incredible little brand based out of Columbus, OH, is gaining national traction for the unmatched creaminess of its ice cream, as well as the unusual combinations of ingredients that just happen to make for absolutely delectable flavors.  I’ve had Jeni’s a few times, and I’ve never been less than thrilled with my gustatory experience.  This flavor is next on my list, and if it’s anything like the others, I have a feeling I might get a little tipsy…

7. Shakuhachi steel cap boots///Little explanation is needed for just how clearly awesome these bad boys are.  I’ve wanted a pair of combat boots for awhile, and while the structure of these is slightly more refined, the gold toe just makes these unreal.  I imagine them worn over acid wash jeans, or with over-the-knee socks and the Modcloth city dress.

8.  Francis Coppola Cabernet Sauvignon///What can I say?  I ADORE a good red wine, especially cabs.  This Francis Coppola has the perfect dose of buttery richness with just enough tannin to keep it towards the dry end.  My dad had this wine at our Thanksgiving meal, and it instantly became a favorite.  Once Becki and I move into our new place towards the 1st of the year (that’s right—you heard it here first!), we fully intend on having friends over for an evening of wine, cheese and chocolate.

XOXO Betsy
