Paris in Cincinnati

Some favorites: a slightly sweet Cabernet Sauvignon; organic grapes & golden carrots; garlic, feta & blue cheese-stuffed olives; Vermont cultured butter; roasted red pepper hummus; fancy gouda & merlot bellavitano cheeses; Lindt dark chocolate w/sea salt; and La Panzanella Rosemary Croccantini.
In a previous post, I mentioned my aversion to non-colors, but my recent love affair with French film & culture has influenced some exceptions to my style rigidity. Thus, I thought it’d be fun to go on a “Parisian picnic” of sorts, and Ault Park seemed like the perfect setting for such a tryst. I’ve always been enamored of this place, but its beauty was heightened against autumnal tones; the view overlooking the east side of Cincinnati was simply breathtaking. To go with the French theme, I paired some old black skinny jeans with worn-in chelsea boots, a slouchy knit Theory sweater and minimal accessories. Red wine and an assortment of snacks proved to be the perfect culinary accompaniments, making for a cheap—yet chic—Sunday date.

Sweater: Theory. Jeans: Forever 21. Chelsea boots: Target. Bag: Aldo. Ring: Banana Republic. Lipstick: Revlon “Wine with Everything.”
