Newspaper Nails

If you know me at all, you know I love nail polish. The more unique, the better when it comes to an at-home manicure (I rarely get my nails done professionally)! My most recent endeavor involves a bit of arts & crafts, and the result is well worth the effort. The materials you will need are pretty straight forward: nail polish, rubbing alcohol, a small bowl, newspaper, and top coat polish.

For this go-round, I used Essie’s “Case Study,” but lighter taupes work even better! Once the nail polish is completely dry you can prep by cutting the newspaper into strips and pouring the rubbing alcohol into the bowl.

Last, you dip each nail into the rubbing alcohol and press a strip of newspaper on them for a couple of seconds. Slowly peel off the paper and the ink should transfer onto the nail. Put a clear coat over to seal and you’re ready to go! Have fun with this and be creative—remember there are other things in the paper besides text, like crosswords and pictures. Enjoy experimenting!
