City Flea Finale
This past Saturday, we FINALLY made it out to the City Flea for its last stint in Northside at the American Can Factory Lofts. Mind you, this is not your run-of-the-mill flea market—it’s an eclectic pop-up market filled with homegrown vendors selling handmade goods and vintage finds. You’ll see everything from artisan popsicles, to screen printed posters and t-shirts, to intricate handcrafted jewelry. We tried popsicles from Streetpops(Becki had Pumpkin Pie, while Betsy enjoyed Honey Bourbon Vanilla—amazing!!), met the lovely jewelry-making goddesses from Hark & Hark, and saw one of our good friends, Tara, who creates super sweet hand sewn pillows and bags. Live music was blasted from the rafters of the factory, creating a fun and festive shopping atmosphere.
Following the Flea, we headed to Melt to quell our yet unsatisfied sweet tooths (sweet teeth?). We each had a cupcake made by the baking geniuses at Take the Cake (Blackberry-Caramel and Chocolate-Buttercream were our flavors of choice), and dear GOD—these badboys were off the charts. Since we consider ourselves amateur cupcake connoisseurs, we feel confident in our belief that these may be the best we’ve had in Cincinnati. Perfectly moist with a rich and creamy frosting, they were the ideal end to this fun afternoon.
