I’m typically not drawn to plaid (unless it’s in the form of worn-in men’s flannel from a thrift store), but when I spotted this camel wool skirt at J. Crew, I couldn’t resist. It reminds me of something my grandmother would’ve worn in the 1950s with some saddle oxfords—proper and feminine, yet fully stylish. To prevent it from seeming too sweet, I paired it with some patent leather pumps and my chunky new shades from Aldo for a retro-collegiate feel. Homecoming, anyone?
